Thanks for having us in WFUV! Check out our session here.

Singer and songwriter Langhorne Slim, whose real name is Sean Scolnick, offers a sardonic, modern take on traditional folk, country, and blues.   Recently, Langhorne Slim and his band The Law, released their new album The Spirit Moves. Sonically, the album features a banjo-driven rock, folk and pop sound that demonstrates an increased sense of artistry and depth. Thematically, the album’s content is celebratory, but also confessional, centering on Scolnick’s transition to a completely sober lifestyle.   In a recent visit to Studio A, Langhorne Slim & The Law played some of their new material.

The Spirit Moves!

It’s hard to believe that the day is here but alas, it is. Our new record The Spirit Moves has been released! Every album has meant a lot but this one feels a bit different and particularly special. All I can say is, I needed it this time around and I gave it my all. The band, as always brought it like the beautiful, soulful badasses they are. Thank you to my brothers Malachi, Jeff, David, Kenny and Andrijia for diving to the depths with me – I love you cats deeply. We’re so proud of this album. We hope you’ll find a connection and that the spirit moves you too.
